Snider earns top defensive honors on 19-4A soccer team

Greenville senior Evan Snider, who anchored the Lions' defense, was recognized for his efforts on the All-District 19-4A soccer team.

Snider captured the defensive most valuable player award.

First-team honors also went to Greenville senior Emerson Flores and Lion sophomore Miguel Sanchez.

Lion juniors Jacob Phillips and Dagin Douglas also captured second-team honors.

Commerce put junior Manual Rendon on the first team and Luis Parra on the second team.

Sulphur Springs' district champions claimed most of the top honor. Wildcat senior Fernando Arellano was selected as the district's MVP. Tony Bravo was the offensive MVP. Sulphur Springs senior Ben Watson was the goalkeeper of the year. Andy Holt earned coach of the year honors.

Paris freshman Blake Beshirs claimed newcomer of the year honors.
