Greenville teams to entertain Texas High tonight

Greenville's Lions and Lady Lions will try to shake off Tuesday district losses at Sulphur Springs as they entertain Texas High of Texarkana in District 13-4A play tonight.

The 7-8-1 Lions will face Texas High at 7:30 p.m. in District 13-4A baseball at John Mason Field following the 4:30 junior varsity contest.

The 8-8 Lady Lions will take on Texas High at 6 p.m. in 13-4A softball at Monty Stratton Field.

The Lions are 0-2 in district play following a 5-3 loss at Sulphur Springs. Sulphur Springs right-hander Jose Martinez checked the Lions on four hits while striking out six.

Lion pitcher Chase Wofford struck out five and allowed six hits and four walks.

Texas High has a 13-4 season record and 2-1 district record after falling 7-2 to Sherman on Tuesday.

The Lady Lions dropped a 10-4 decision at Sulphur Springs on Tuesday, allowing 14 hits and committing seven errors.

Texas High is 11-14 for the season and 2-2 in district softball play following a 6-2 win over Sherman on Tuesday.
