Greenville to face Commerce in soccer

Greenville's Lions will close out the regular season and recognize their seniors during tonight's match against Commerce.
The junior varsity match starts first at 5:30 p.m. at T.A. "Cotton" Ford Stadium in Greenville, with the varsity to follow at about 7:15.
The Lions dropped their last District 19-4A match, 3-1 to Princeton on Tuesday night.
Miguel Sanchez scored Greenville's only goal as the Lions dropped to 3-13-2 for the season and 3-6 in district play.
Greenville coach Jeff Crank said the Lions can still make the playoffs with another win over Commerce. Greenville beat Commerce 3-0 at Commerce on Feb. 25.
Bryan Flores, Emerson Flores and Zak Halverson scored for the Lions on that night. Greenville took 20 shots in that game with nine on goal.
Greenville's junior varsity blanked the Commerce JV 5-0 last time, getting two goals from Sergio Sanchez to go with one each from Isreal Lorado, Mario Bueso and Luis Silva. |
