Sulphur Springs blanks Lions, 3-0

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats won a big District 19-4A soccer game by a 3-0 margin over the Greenville Lions at T.A. Cotton Ford Stadium on Friday.
The Wildcats scored with 19:03 left in the first half, as Tony Bravo's shot found the net just out of the reach of the Greenville goalkeeper.
Bravo scored his second goal of the game with 25:17 left in the second half to make it 2-0 Sulphur Springs.
The Wildcats got a goal from Oscar Lopez with one minute left in the game, to close out the scoring.
Greenville had nine total shots on goal, as Evan Snider had four, Miguel Sanchez three, Andrew Carrillo and Zak Halverson one each.
But Sulphur Springs goalkeeper Ben Watson would let nothing get pass him on this evening.
Dakota Holmes made six saves and David Arellano had eight saves for the Lions, who fell to 3-3 in district.
The Lions are 3-10-2 overall.
"We can get second place in district if we win Monday," said Greenville head coach Jeff Crank.
The Lions will entertain Paris on Monday, with the junior varsity match starting first at 5:30 p.m.
