WILLS POINT -- Greenville's Lady Lions took a pair of victories on Thursday in the Wills Point softball tournament.

The Lady Lions nipped Wills Point 6-5 in the first game as Rachael Cook struck out seven while allowing six hits, four walks and two earned runs.

Katie Threndyle and Arian Alford both had two singles to lead Greenville at the plate.

Greenville avenged a loss to Caddo Mills in the season opener with a 7-4 win over the Lady Foxes.

Cook struck out three and allowed seven hits and a walk.

Sidney Tippit and Ali Threndyle both had two hits for the Lady Lions. Threndyle had a double and a triple.

Katie Threndyle also doubled and Megan Shaw singled for Greenville.

Lexi Tadlock had two hits for Caddo Mills and Nikki Flowers tripled.

Greenville plays two games again today at the Wills Point tournament, facing Kaufman at 11:30 a.m. and Terrell at 1:15 p.m.
