Two Lady Lions qualify for state meet

FORNEY -- Two Greenville Lady Lions earned trips to the state powerlifting meet with their performances at the Region III meet on Saturday.

Shay McMillan will advance in the 114-pound class after totaling 620 pounds for her top lifts in the squats, bench press and deadlift. She placed fifth at the region meet.

Brittany Lee Davis will advance in the 220-plus pound class with her total of 890. Davis was sixth at the region meet.

Shelia Crowder of Greenville placed sixth in the 165s with her total of 700 but did not meet the state qualifying standard of 745.

The girls state powerlifting meet is set for March 18-19 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. The 4A Division begins lifting at 9:15 a.m. on March 18.
