GHS softball team goes 2-1

SULPHUR SPRINGS -- Greenville's Lady Lions went 2-1 in the Sulphur Springs softball tournament on Friday.
The Lady Lions began the day with a 4-3 loss to Commerce.
Ali Threndyle pitched for the Lady Lions, striking out five.
Arian Alford went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Lions and Threndyle singled.
Greenville bounced back from that loss with a 6-3 win over Frisco Heritage.
Alford walked five and struck out six to pick up the mound win.
Sidney Tippit, Vanessa Rico and Chelsea Rigsby all went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Lions. Tippit slugged a two-run homer. Alford had one hit.
Greenville finished the day with a 9-2 pasting of Paris.
Threndyle and Alford shared pitching duties. Threndyle struck out three in four innings and Alford fanned four batters in three innings.
Tippit led the Lady Lions' hitters with a double and Megan Shaw singled. |
