Greenville lifters claim Lone Oak team titles

LONE OAK -- Brittany Lee Davis won her second straight outstanding lifter award to lead the Greenville powerlifters to both team titles on Saturday at the Lone Oak Invitational.

Davis took the 220-plus pound class and captured the outstanding lifter award for the heavy platform with her total of 845 pounds. Davis squatted 375 pounds, matching last week's total in Royse City, plus she topped last week's bench press mark with a lift of 170 and handled 300 in the dead lift.

Shay McMillian, Chandler Bigby and Shelia Crowder also won their respective weight classes to help the Lady Lions to 46 team points. Royse City was second with 27 points followed by host Lone Oak (19), Caddo Mills (19), Commerce (12), Community (10), Paris Chisum (7) and Princeton (0).

McMillian won the 114s with a 580 total. Bigby took the 132s at 545. Crowder captured the 165s with her total of 675.

Dearius Mitchell of Greenville won the 132s with a 795 total to help the Lions capture the boys team title with 29 points. Royse City was second with 27, followed by Caddo Mills (25), Princeton (23), Terrell (19), Paris Chisum (17), Canton (13), Community (13), Clarksville (12), Commerce (9) and Lone Oak (3).
