Greenville's Lady Lions took advantage of mild temperatures and their home field in a 4-1 non-district soccer victory over Crandall on Friday night.

The Lady Lions outshot Crandall 15-2 to up their season record to 7-3.

"Overall we dominated that entire game, just like I expected to happen," said Lady Lions coach Ryan Dunlevy.

Dunlevy said he was pleased with the performance except for a late defensive lapse that allowed Alexis Gipson to score an unassisted goal for Crandall.

"Beautiful effort out of the midfield and up top," he said. "Brandy Gray did a good job (at goalkeeper) and came in and made two or three saves for us."

Sandra Zaquez played most of the first half at goalkeeper for the Lady Lions and was not seriously tested as the Lady Lions kept the ball on Crandall's end of the field most of the time.

Maddy Crabtree scored the Lady Lions' first goal on a header off a corner kick by Bailey Phillips early in the first half.

Julia Hernandez booted in Greenville's second goal of the half following an assist from Emmaline Hollingsworth.

Lindsey Carter put Greenville up 3-0 early in the second half with a shot that followed a feed from Carol Twilley.

Priscilla Carillo made it 4-0 with 23:22 remaining after receiving a pass from Crabtree.

Crandall goalkeeper Bailey Buchanan turned back several promising Greenville shots. The Lady Lions also had two goals disallowed because of offsides calls.

Crandall dropped to 2-3-1 for the season.

The Lady Lions will remain at home for their third straight match on Tuesday against Texas High of Texarkana before heading to Frisco on Friday.
