Rested Lions face Mount Pleasant tonight

A night off on Tuesday should help the Greenville Lions and Lady Lions as they resume District 13-4A basketball play tonight against Mount Pleasant.
The 6-18 Lions will travel to Mount Pleasant to take on the first place Tigers at about 7:30, following the 5 p.m. freshman and 6:15 junior varsity contests.
The 8-17 Lady Lions will entertain Mount Pleasant, also at about 7:30, following the freshman and junior varsity games.
Greenville's Lions are tied for fifth place in 13-4A with Sherman at 2-5 after beating the Bearcats 55-51 last Friday in Sherman. Sawyer Harmon led the Lions with 14 points and Marquise Taylor added 10.
Greenville built a 17-7 lead in the first quarter and held off the Bearcats.
"They made a few runs and we finished it off," said Lions coach Marcus Smith.
Mount Pleasant is 7-0 in district play after whipping Sherman 55-44 on Tuesday night.
Mount Pleasant beat the Lions 57-36 in Greenville back on Jan. 4. Michael Fomby and Carl Hurndon both fired in 20 points to lead the Tigers.
Sawyer Harmon was the Lions' top shooter in that game with 10 points and Shane Sellers added eight.
Greenville's Lady Lions rank sixth in the district at 2-6 following a 60-27 loss to first place Sherman last Friday in Greenville. Sherman lifted the Lady Lions to single digits in each of the four quarters. Aubrey Tucker was the Lady Lions' leader with 10 points.
Mount Pleasant is fourth in the 13-4A girls standings at 5-4 following a 48-45 loss to Sherman on Tuesday night.
Mount Pleasant claimed a 54-31 victory over the Lady Lions on Jan. 4 in Mount Pleasant. Ashley Abbott and Mackenzie Cooper both pumped in seven points to lead the Lady Lions.
