Royse City and Greenville will renew their I-30 rivalry tonight in District 13-4A basketball.

Greenville's 5-17 Lions will travel the short distance to Royse City to take on the 9-11 Bulldogs in a 7:30 p.m. contest that follows the 5 p.m. freshman and 6:15 junior varsity games.

Royse City's 15-7 Lady Bulldogs will travel to Greenville to take on the 7-15 Lady Lions, also at about 7:30, following the freshman and junior varsity match-ups.

Both Greenville teams dropped district encounters with Texas High of Texarkana on Wednesday night. The games were pushed back from Tuesday because of inclement weather.

Texas High took a 68-47 victory from the Lions in Greenville. Jaquentin Patt topped the Lions with 11 points, while Ladarrien Davis and Oshay Carter both added nine points.

"We played hard but we had too many turnovers at crucial times of the game," said Lions coach Marcus Smith.

Texas High dominated play in the first (22-11) and fourth quarters (21-8).

That loss dropped the Lions to 1-2 in district play.

Royse City is also 1-2 in district play after falling 68-64 to Sherman on Tuesday night in Royse City. Trey Bowers and David Frye both pumped in 17 points to lead the Bulldogs, who also picked up 12 from Matt Stone.

Royse City carries a 4-0 district record into the girls contest following a 47-34 win over Sherman on Tuesday night. Royse City took control with a 16-3 advantage in the second quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs spread the scoring around among Krystal Padron (12), Nina Gaines (8), Dezaray Gardner (8) and Jennifer Null (8).

The Lady Lions are 1-4 in district play following a 43-38 loss at Texas High on Tuesday night.

"This is a frustrating loss for all of us," said Lady Lions coach Lesa Darst. "This is one I thought we had an opportunity to win."

Mackenzie Cooper led the Lady Lions with 11 points and five rebounds.

Ashley Abbott pulled down nine rebounds and blocked three shots.
