A slow start hurt the Greenville Lady Lions in a 46-37 District 13-4A loss to Sulphur Springs on Friday in the Lions Den.
Sulphur Springs led 15-6 after one quarter and matched the Lady Lions point for point the rest of the way to up its district record to 3-2.
The Lady Lions dropped to 1-3.
Reagan Humphrey pumped in 20 points to lead Sulphur Springs and all scorers.
Shanterria Riley fired in 15 points to lead the Lady Lions and also managed four steals and a couple of assists.
Mackenzie Cooper led the Lady Lions with six rebounds and three assists.
LaBrandi Mayberry and Ashley Abbott both pulled down four rebounds.
"Lost a tough game tonight," said Lady Lions coach Lesa Darst. "The team is going to refocus and get ready for district game set for Tuesday in Texarkana."
