Greenville Lions, Lady Lions win in tourneys

KAUFMAN -- The Greenville Lady Lions rebounded from a 49-20 loss to Mabank on Wednesday to defeat North Garland 33-30 on Thursday at the Kaufman Holiday tournament.
"We worked on offenses and defenses that we're going to try to use in district," said Lady Lions coach Lesa Darst. "We are getting ready for the next district game."
Greenville, now 7-12 for the season, resumes District 10-4A play on Tuesday at Mount Pleasant.
Arian Alford banked in 10 points for Greenville against North Garland, while Shanterria Riley tallied seven points. Ashley Abbott pulled down 16 rebounds for the Lady Lions, followed by Mackenzie Cooper and Alford with six apiece.
Tucker led Greenville against Mabank with eight points and four steals, Abbott pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
