A tough basketball schedule for Greenville gets even tougher tonight when the winless Lions travel to Frisco to face the No. 16 state-ranked Raccoons.

The tripleheader starts at 4:30 p.m. with the freshman game, followed by the junior varsity and varsity.

The 4-4 Greenville Lady Lions are also on the road, taking on Bonham. That tripleheader, which also features freshmen, junior varsity and varsity, starts at 5 p.m.

Greenville's Lions have fallen 65-45 to Marshall, 83-36 to West Mesquite, 55-46 to Whitehouse and 70-60 to Paris.

A seven-minute scoreless streak in the first quarter hurt the Lions, who got down 13-2 and never could catch Paris.

"That put us in a deep, deep hole," said Lions coach Marcus Smith.

Smith noted that every time the Lions would get close to the Wildcats they'd lose a turnover.

"I can't get on my kids' effort but they need to take better care of the ball," he said.

Ladarrien Davis led the Lions against Paris with 13 points and is now averaging 7.5 points per game.

Jaquintin Patt added 10 points, while Sawyer Harmon and Dartanon Wilson both pitched in nine points. Harmon's averaging 7.0 points per game. Wilson averages 9.0. Kenneth Neal, who added six points, averages 6.7.

Frisco is 3-0, having beaten Wylie East, 55-29, The Colony, 82-78, and Naaman Forest of Garland, 64-63.

Frisco's Ben Dillard is averaging 26 points per game, having fired in 33 points against Naaman Forest, 28 versus The Colony and 17 against Wylie East.

R.J. White also pumped in 24 against The Colony.

The Greenville Lady Lions will be facing Bonham for the third time this season, having beaten the Lady Warriors 49-30 in the home opener on Nov. 16 and then 38-33 in a consolation game at the Quinlan Ford tournament on Nov. 20.

Shanterria Riley led the Lady Lions against Bonham in the Quinlan tournament with nine points. Arian Alford added seven points. Alford was the top gun in the home victory over Bonham with 17 points.
