Greenville's defense could get a serious test tonight when the Lions entertain Whitehouse in non-district basketball.

Scheduled game times are a 5, 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. for the freshman, junior varsity and varsity contests.

Whitehouse, which has gotten a late start due to the success of its football team, has played just one game this season. But the Wildcats routed Tyler Chapel Hill, 80-51.

Whitehouse did most of its scoring in the first and third periods, outscoring Chapel Hill 17-8 and 27-12.

Lee and Palmer led Whitehouse with 19 points apiece and House added 10.

Greenville is 0-2 for the season, including a 65-45 loss at Marshall and an 83-36 loss to West Mesquite in the home opener on Saturday.

Greenville stayed within range at 31-20 in the first half but was outscored 21-6 and 31-10 in the final two periods.

"The second half we got tired, either that or we kept turning the ball over and lost our desire to play defense," said the Lions first-year head coach, Marcus Smith.

Dartanon Wilson led the Lions against Whitehouse with 10 points. Ladarrien Davis and Marquise Taylor both pitched in six points.
