Lion freshmen win, 15-14

The Greenville Lion ninth graders upped their season football record to 5-2-1 with a 15-14 victory over Royse City on Thursday.

Tyler Matthews scored on runs of 18 and 24 for the Lions. Tayelor Doty booted one extra point and Justin Koger threw a two-point pass to John Franklin to put the Lions ahead for good.

The Lions' defense stopped Royse City's conversion attempt to seal the victory.

The Lions play again at 5 p.m. Thursday in Denison.
