New volleyball coach gets first win

TERRELL -- Greenville’s Lady Lions squared their season record and claimed their first victory under new head coach Melissa Anderson on Friday.
The Lady Lions downed Terrell, 28-26, 25-16, 25-17.
Emelie Kilgore put away a team-high eight kills for the Lady Lions. LaBrandi Mayberry managed six kills. Mackenzie Cooper, Maygan Bloyed and Ellen Robins finished with five kills each and Jenny Hardaway had two kills.
Shanterria Riley paced the team in assists with 16 and Ashley Walden added six assists.
Kilgore added two blocks and Bloyed finished with three blocks.
Maddy Crabtree topped the defense with six digs.
Greenville’s junior varsity prevailed, 25-19, 25-16.
Kassidy Watson set for six assists and Sara Richardson led the Lady Lion hitters with six kills.
Terrell took the freshman contest, 13-25, 25-12, 15-9.
