Lady Lions sweep past Highland Park

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Greenville’s Lady Lions completed a
District 10-4A softball sweep over Highland Park, downing the
Scots 11-2 on Tuesday.
Greenville also beat Highland Park 6-0 in Greenville on March
12.
Greenville’s defense turned four double plays and commited
only one error.
“I thought we played really well,” said Lady Lions coach Glenn
Banker.
Sophomore lefty Rachael Cook struck out three while allowing
six hits and two runs.
Cook and Arian Alford both drove in two runs.
Shelby Doederlein and Kayla Mayes both went 2-for-2 for the
Lady Lions, who are now 11-8-1 for the season and 3-6 in
district play.
