Rockwall spoiled Greenville’s plan of clinching a playoff
berth by downing the Lions 66-60 in three overtimes on
Tuesday.
“Rockwall outplayed Greenville tonight,” said Greenville coach
Earl Claiborne. “We had plenty of opportunities to close out
this game, but didn’t.”
The Lions, who’ll face Rockwall-Heath at home on Friday, still
hold a two-game lead over the Hawks in the battle for fourth
place in the District 10-4A standings after Rockwall-Heath
lost 49-39 to Highland Park.
Wesley Davis fired in 16 points and Hunter Jorgensen and Micah
Griffey each pumped in 10 points to lead the visiting
Yellowjackets.
Devonte Green banked in 20 points for Greenville. Dijuon
Sheppard tallied 12 points for the Lions and had a dunk in the
contest.
Alton Dennis chipped in 11 points for Greenville.
