Lady Lions keep playoff hopes alive

Olivia Carter banked in 29 points as the Greenville Lady Lions
stayed alive in the playoff hunt with a 56-31 victory over the
R.L. Turner Lady Lions at the Lions Den Tuesday.
Maddy Crabtree also pumped in 14 points for the Lady Lions,
who improved to 16-10 for the season and 7-5 in district play.
Greenville had been in fourth place in the 10-4A standings
heading into this game. The top four teams advance to the
playoffs.
The Lady Lions took control in the second quarter, outscoring
Turner 17-5 to build a 33-13 halftime lead.
“Our defense played well tonight,” said Greenville coach David
Sanders.
Rebekah Carrera led the visiting Lady Lions from Carrollton
with 12 points.
Greenville will host J.J. Pearce’s Lady Mustangs on Friday in
another big game for the Lady Lions.

CARROLLTON — Greenville’s Lions stayed in the running for a
playoff berth in District 10-4A with a 52-47 victory over R.L.
Turner on Tuesday night.
Devonte Green fired in a game-high 23 points to lead the
Lions, who also collected 12 points from Alton Dennis.
Greenville improved to 12-15 for the season and 6-4 in
district play.
David Hernandez fired in 21 points to lead R.L. Turner.
