Lady Lions hang tough, but fall to Rockwall

GREENVILLE -- The Greenville Lady Lions hung tough for a half
against No. 3 state-ranked Rockwall before the Lady Jackets
pulled away for a 72-52 district victory on Friday night in
the Lions Den.
Peyton Adamson, the leading Class 4A scorer in the Metroplex,
fired in a game-high 44 points to help Rockwall stay
undefeated in District 10-4A play at 7-0. The Lady Jackets are
now 24-4 overall.
Greenville fell to 13-8 for the season and 4-3 in district
play.
Led by Olivia Carter and KeArra Davis, the Lady Lions held
leads of 4-0, 10-9, 12-9, 12-11 and 22-21 in the first half.
Adamson hit a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to put Rockwall
up 35-27 at halftime.
The Lady Jackets then outscored Greenville 22-10 in the third
quarter to stretch their lead to 20 points.
Freshman Maddy Crabtree pumped in 23 points to lead the Lady
Lions. Carter also pitched in 15 points and Davis added eight.
