Frisco downs Lions, 72-60

GREENVILLE -- Ben Dillard banked in 22 points, while Quince
Jackson and Jarred Bryan pumped in 12 apiece to lead Frisco to
a 72-60 victory over the Greenville Lions Tuesday night at the
Lions Den.
The visiting Raccoons started out strong, outscoring
Greenville 22-13 in the first quarter. But in the second
quarter both teams scored 13 points, That left the Raccoons
ahead 35-26 at halftime.
The third quarter was Greenville’s as the Lions outscored
Frisco 23-12 to gain a 49-47 lead heading into the final
quarter.
“Our defense played hard in the third quarter,” said
Greenville coach Earl Claiborne. “The first half was ugly, but
we kept playing hard.”
The fourth quarter however would prove to be the downfall for
Greenville. The Lions were outscored 25-11 by the Raccoons.
“Costly turnovers cost us this game tonight,” said Claiborne.
Devonte Greene swished in 18 for Greenville. Byron Mack
tallied 11 for the Lions, who are headed to the Lindale
basketball tournament this Thursday. Dijuon Sheppard also
chipped in nine for the Lions, who fell to 1-4 on the young
season.
