John Tyler tops Greenville 70-67John Tyler of Tyler spoiled Greenville’s season basketball opener on Monday night, holding off the Lions for a 70-67 victory.

Greenville led 20-18 after one quarter and 57-56 entering the final period but was outscored 14-10 in the fourth quarter.

Johnson led the victors with 20 points and Lester and Eatmon both added 13.

Devonte Green topped the Lions with 19 points. Alton Dennis pitched in 17 and Dijoun Sheppard added 14.

The Greenville Lions will be back in action at home on Friday against Commerce with only a varsity game that starts at 5 p.m.
