Lady Lions go 2-3 in Whitesboro tournament

WHITESBORO -- Greenville’s Lady Lions won two matches and lost three this past weekend at the Whitesboro volleyball tournament.

The Lady Lions downed Gainesville, 21-25, 27-25, 25-17.

Morgan Bloyed set for 20 assists and put away five kills for the Lady Lions.

Emelie Kilgore and Hannah Johnson both put away six kills while Meghan Litchfield and Maygan Bloyed added five kills each.

Heather Johnson led the Lady Lions with three digs and Litchfield had two digs.

Litchfield served for a team-high four aces and Maygan Bloyed served for two aces.

Greenville lost to Van Alstyne, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Morgan Bloyed set for 18 assists and had seven kills to go with three digs, four aces and two blocks.

Kilgore added eight kills to go with two blocks.

Hannah Johnson managed five kills, T.J. Holmes had four kills and Litchfield and Maygan Bloyed both finished with three kills.

Litchfield led in digs with five. Heather Johnson and Shanterria Riley both had four digs.

Erika Patterson served for three aces.

The Lady Lions spiked Texoma Christian, 25-18, 25-13.

Kilgore paced Greenville with five kills, while Litchfield added four and Morgan Bloyed finished with three.

Morgan Bloyed set for 11 assists and served for three aces.

Kilgore and Leanah Halverson both served for three aces.

Riley led in digs with six.

Greenville lost 25-23, 18-25, 25-20 to Pottsboro.

Kilgore was the kill leader with seven and Morgan Bloyed and Litchfield both finished with four kills. Kilgore also led in blocks with five.

Riley topped the team in digs with four and aces with three.

Jessica Bailey also served for a pair of aces.

Maygan Bloyed finished that match with three blocks.

Greenville lost 25-23, 22-25, 25-20 to Sanger.

Morgan Bloyed set for 22 assists while Maygan Bloyed put away a team-high 12 kills. Morgan Bloyed, Litchfield and Holmes all finished with three kills.

Litchfield served for three aces and had three kills and four assists.

Hannah Johnson finished with five kills and two blocks.

Holmes also managed two blocks.

Greenville returns to the court at home on Tuesday, entertaining Wills Point and Sulphur Springs for a dual match with the first contest starting at 5 p.m.
