Lady Lions go 3-0 in tournament pool play

TERRELL -- Greenville’s Lady Lions went 3-0 in pool play on Friday at the Terrell volleyball tournament, claiming all three matches in straight sets.

“We played a lot together and came together on some stuff,” said Greenville coach JoAnna Vaden.

They downed South Garland, 25-15, 25-23.

Meghan Litchfield led the Lady Lions with six kills and Emelie Kilgore managed five kills and Morgan Bloyed had three kills.

Morgan Bloyed led in assists with 13.

Shanterria Riley topped the Lady Lions in digs with six and Litchfield had two digs.

Litchfield served for three aces and Morgan Bloyed served for two aces.

Litchfield, Ashley Abbott, Kilgore and Maygan Bloyed all recorded blocks.

Greenville downed Dallas Hillcrest, 25-15, 25-15.

Litchfield led in kills with five. Maygan Bloyed managed four kills and Abbott put away two kills.

Kilgore led in blocks with four, Abbott had three blocks and Maygan Bloyed finished with two blocks.

Morgan Bloyed led Greenville in assists with 11 and had three digs. Hannah Johnson produced five digs and Riley added two digs.

Erika Patterson served for two aces.

Greenville beat Kaufman, 25-23, 25-17.

Morgan Bloyed led in kills with six and in assists with seven. Kilgore added five kills. Litchfield and Johnson both recorded five kids. Morgan Bloyed, Litchfield and Riley all served for three aces and Maygan Bloyed served for two aces. Litchfield and Hannah Johnson both recorded five digs. Kilgore led in blocks with three.

The Lady Lions will play again at 10 a.m. today in the gold bracket of the tournament.
