Heath spoils Lions' district opener in baseball

GREENVILLE -- Rockwall-Heath ruined Greenville’s District
10-4A opener in baseball, handing the Lions an 18-2 loss on
Tuesday night at John Mason Field.
The game was delayed nearly 45 minutes because of lightning.
Rockwall-Heath was ahead 3-0 at the time entering the bottom
of the first before the game resumed.
The Hawks outhit the Lions 11-3. Three Greenville errors led
to eight unearned runs scored by the Hawks.
Wade Prigmore led the Lions with two hits, including a triple.
Kevin Long singled for Greenville’s other hit.
Rockwall-Heath pitchers James Baune and Peyton Desmond
combined for five strikeouts and did not allow any walks.
Lion pitchers Miguel Saavedra and Thomas Thrower walked eight
and struck out three.
