GREENVILLE -- Greenville’s Lions will try to put a 3-0 loss to
Sulphur Springs behind them as they close out the home soccer
season tonight against Paris.
The Lions will also celebrate senior night. Scheduled game
times are at 5:30 and 7:15 p.m. for the junior varsity and
varsity matches at T.A. “Cotton” Ford Stadium.
Greenville has three remaining road games set for Saturday at
North Lamar, Tuesday at Princeton and March 13 at Commerce.
Sulphur Springs moved up into a tie with the Lions for first
place in District 20-4A after getting a hat trick from Carlos
Martinez, who was a late substitute in Friday’s game.
The loss dropped the Lions to 7-6-3 for the season and 4-1-1
in district play. Greenville has split with Sulphur Springs in
two district games, beating the Wildcats 1-0 in Greenville on
Feb. 11.
