Soccer Lady Lions beat Paris, 3-1

PARIS, Texas -- Julie Hernandez scored two goals and assisted on another as the Greenville Lady Lions outscored Paris 3-1 in District 20-4A soccer on Wednesday night.

The victory upped the Lady Lions’ district record to 5-1.

Hernandez scored off an assist from Katelynn Twilley and unassisted goal. She also set up Lindsey Carter for a goal.

Greenville led 2-1 at halftime.

Greenville goalkeeper Lupe Alvarez finished with five saves.

“Paris really stepped it up toward the end of the game,” said Lady Lions coach Ron Beck. “The girls held their own.”

Paris claimed the junior varsity match 4-2.

Meg Lawson scored both of Greenville’s goals.

The Lady Lions will entertain North Lamar on Friday night with two games starting at 5:30 p.m.
