The Greenville Lions stayed unbeaten in District 20-4A soccer after winning an overtime shootout with North Lamar, 1-0 on Monday night.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie in regulation.

Jonathan Arellano and Ryan Wilhelm scored for the Lions during the shootout.

Greenville goalkeeper Matt Mouer saved three of the four shots he faced during the shootout.

Greenville had a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal during regulation.

PARIS -- North Lamar handed the Greenville Lady Lions their first District 20-4A soccer loss by a 2-1 margin on Tuesday night.

Julie Hernandez scored first for the Lady Lions in the first half off a corner kick by Katelynn Twilley.

North Lamar scored twice in the second half to drop Greenville’s district record to 2-1.

Shots on goal wound up 6-6 as Greenville goalkeeper Lupe Alvarez finished with four saves.

North Lamar claimed the junior varsity match, 5-1.

Veronica Pena scored Greenville’s only goal.
