Lady Lions defeat Newman Smith

GREENVILLE -- The Greenville Lady Lions rebounded from a 55-54
loss at Royse City on Thursday night by defeating Carrollton
Newman Smith 49-40 at the Lions Den on Friday night.
The Lady Lions needed a win to stay in the running for one of
four playoff spots in District 10-4A. Greenville improved its
second record to 6-5. The Lady Lions are 12-11 overall.
Olivia Carter banked in 19 for the Lady Lions, while Rocio
Medrano added 17.
Ashley Abbott and Jessica Franklin each pumped in six and five
points respectfully in the Lady Lion victory.
Kim Nezianya chipped in 13 points for the visiting Lady
Trojans in a losing effort.
