GREENVILLE -- Greenville soccer coach Jeff Crank is hoping the
Lions get off to a faster start when they entertain Frisco at
about 7:15 tonight in non-district match at T.A. “Cotton” Ford
Stadium.
The junior varsity match starts at 5:30 with the varsity to
follow.
Greenville gave up a goal in the first 47 seconds to Prosper
in Tuesday night’s home opener before settling down to claim a
3-1 victory.
“Other than the first three minutes of the game we played
pretty well,” said Crank.
Cole West scored on a header off a corner kick for Prosper.
Greenville shut Prosper down for the rest of the game as Lion
goalkeeper Matt Mouer finished with one save.
The Lions managed 14 shots on goal, getting goals from
Jonathan Arellano, Chris Mobley and Alvaro Carillo to go with
assists from Dagin Douglas, Ramon Alvarez and Arellano.
The Lions are 3-1 for the season while Frisco is 3-2. Frisco’s
beaten Cedar Park (2-0), Pflugerville Connally (5-1) and Wylie
(3-0) and has lost to El Paso El Dorado (1-0) and Little Elm
(3-2).
Greenville’s also beaten Gainesville 3-1 and Mansfield 2-1 and
has lost 3-0 to South Grand Prairie. |
