Carter scores 41 in Lady Lions' 62-41 win

GREENVILLE -- Olivia Carter banked in 41 points to lead the Greenville Lady Lions to a 62-41 victory over Richardson Pearce here Friday night.

Thanks to Carter’s big night, the Lady Lions evened their record at 3-3 in District 10-4 play.

Jessica Franklin added 11 for Greenville, which earned some praise from coach Dave Sanders.

“The Lady Lions are working harder and executing better,” said Sanders.

Rocio Medrano tallied seven points for Greenville. Myneshia Crow hit a basket for two points. Ashley Abbott nailed a free throw to round out scoring for Greenville.

Elyssa Aft pumped in 11 points to lead the visiting Mustangs, who dropped to 1-5 in district play.

Greenville led 12-7 after the first quarter

Then the Lady Lions outscored J.J. Pearce 20-12 in the second quarter, giving the Lady Lions a 32-19 lead at halftime.

The Lady Lions delivered the knockout blow in the third quarter, outscoring Pearce 16-5.
