All District 10-4A volleyball team announced

GREENVILLE -- Four Greenville Lady Lions made the honorable mention list on the All-District 10-4A volleyball team as selected by the district coaches.

Morgan Bloyed, Meghan Litchfield, Sarah Tankersley and Quincy Watson were on that list.

Greenville also put 10 players on the academic all-district list including Brandi Cody, Yariza Castillo, Watson, Bloyed, Tankersley, Bethany Ellsworth, Hannah Stuart, Emelie Kilgore, Litchfield and Hannah Johnson.

Katherine Culwell, who helped Highland Park reach the state finals, earned the most valuable player award.

District champion Richardson Pearce claimed four of the top honors including top attacker, Katie O’Brein; top libero, Julie Olschwanger; top newcomer, Stephanie Holland; and coach of the year, Tanessa Sawyer.

Kayley Pults of Newman Smith earned the defensive player of the year award.

Maggie Brindock of Rockwall captured the top setter award and the top blocker honor went to Highland Park’s Hannah Peterson.

Royse City put Skyler Strahm on the first team, plus Kellie Wyrick and Fayrina Merrick on the second team.
