Sherman spoils Lions' home opener

GREENVILLE -- The Sherman Bearcats spoiled Greenville’s home
opener, handing the Lions a 74-36 loss on Tuesday night.
The visiting Bearcats, who ran their record to 3-0, jumped out
to a 29-4 lead in the first quarter. Sherman built the
advantage to 48-9 by halftime.
Greenville showed some life in the third quarter, outscoring
the Bearcats 20-11.
Sherman put the game away with a 15-7 advantage in the final
quarter.
Carmen Clark banked in 20 points to lead Sherman, putting down
two dunks.
Andre Bryan chipped in 16 points, Gregg Jackson added 12 and
Andrew Dick tossed in 11.
For Greenville, Devonte Green chipped in 14 points.
Dijuon Sheppard tallied six points for the Lions. Alton Dennis
poured in five points for Greenville. Jarel Nelson and N.J.
Mason each drained three points apiece. Aaron Johnson tallied
four points for Greenville.
