Lady Lions win nailbiter

CARROLLTON -- Greenville’s Lady Lady outlasted R.L. Turner of Carrollton, 22-25, 24-26, 26-24, 25-23, 15-12 in a District 10-4A volleyball nailbiter on Tuesday night.

Morgan Bloyed put away 10 kills and added 12 assists and five aces to help the Lady Lions rally from a two-game deficit.

Setter Quincy Watson led Greenville in assists with 15 and had 11 digs.

Meghan Litchfield produced four kills to go with 13 digs.

Sarah Tankersley produced two kills, seven digs and one ace.

Emelie Kilgore and Hannah Stuart both had two kills, while Stuart also produced 12 digs.

Jessica Franklin contributed four kills and three blocks.

Brandi Cody had one dig and Yariza Castillo managed two digs.

Greenville lost the junior varsity contest, 25-20, 25-7.

R.L. Turner claimed the freshman contest, 25-22, 25-22.
