Kyle Crick and the Sherman Bearcats spoiled the Greenville Lions' senior night on Saturday, handing them a 4-0 loss in the baseball season finale.

Following an 80-minute delay because of lightning, Crick and teammate Chris Gitten combined on a two-hitter. Crick, who hit 95 mph on radar guns carried by at least seven pro scouts, struck out five and allowed only two hits and one walk in five innings. Gitten fanned four in two innings.

Chase Wofford and Blake Taylor had Greenville's only hits of the night.

The Lions honored seniors Nate Benton, Zak Edgerton, Mica Lambert, Michael Riskey, Miguel Saavedra, Douglas Skinner, Blake Taylor, Andy Whorton and Wofford in pre-game ceremonies.

Wofford threw a four-hitter for the Lions, striking out four allowing only two earned runs.

Sherman scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back as Gus Daniel was hit by the pitch and Tyler Liss doubled him home. Liss then stole third and scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.

The Bearcats scored a single run in the second and one more in the fourth inning.

The Lions conclude the season at 11-15-1 for the season and 3-9 in district.

"It was a little bit of a disappointing season, but our program is going in the right direction," said Lions coach Cody Salyers.
